ERASING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE STEREOTYPES

Each year, PADV's Women In Action Forum gathers women of all walks of life in Gwinnett County to educate them on issues pertaining to intimate partner violence.  The 2017 Forum will focus on dispelling widely held stereotypes about victims.  It will feature the eye-opening testimony of Charmagne Helton, a member of the PADV Board of Directors who is also a former PADV client.  There will be a marketplace full of vendors, a tasty breakfast buffet and a Q&A forum with panelists knowledgeable about various facets of intimate partner violence.  In addition to Ms. Helton, panelists will include a mother, Theresa Bullock, whose daughter was abused, PADV's President and CEO Nancy Friauf, the Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Tracie Cason, and the Gwinnett Solicitor General Rosanna Szabo. Women In Action Forum proceeds help fund the operating budget of PADV’s Gwinnett Shelter, which is the largest domestic violence safe house in Georgia.
