The new PADV board chair is Constance Dierickx, PhD, an advisor to corporate and nonprofit boards and senior executives, helping them with high-stakes decisions and crisis management. The new board members include a variety of advocates from attorneys and entrepreneurs to sales managers, vice presidents and consultants – all whom will serve three-year terms to help the organization in its goal to end the crime of intimate partner violence.

The Teens Against Dating Violence (TADV) Advisory Board is an opportunity for teens to have their voices heard. The goal of the TADV Advisory Board is to empower teens to take a stand against dating violence in their communities and through social networking sites. Teens who are selected to serve on the TADV Advisory Board will acquire volunteer experience, leadership skills and increased knowledge of social issues.

As part of The Mary Kay Foundation’s annual shelter grants program, PADV has received a $20,000 unrestricted grant to further the organization’s efforts to combat domestic violence and provide rehabilitation services throughout the metro area. The grant awarded to PADV is part of $3 million in funding that the Foundation has awarded this year to 150 domestic violence shelters in 49 states, the District of Columbia and Guam.
